Truckman, the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of pick-up hardtops and accessories, transformed its extensive West Midlands facility into a conference venue to host more than 250 UK motor industry professionals on behalf of Isuzu and Subaru.
The Dudley-based company became the first supplier to ever host the IM Group Dealer Conference at its premises, which provided the ideal setting to discuss industry issues and the group’s current and upcoming vehicle ranges.
Welcoming Isuzu and Subaru dealers from across the United Kingdom and guests from around the world, Truckman utilised its 120,000sq.ft premises to create a conference hall featuring stadium-style seating and audio visual equipment. IM Group has also created a heated outdoor space with catering facilities and seating in its external distribution area.
In addition to attending the conference, which also highlighted the upcoming trends and innovations in pick-up truck accessories, delegates were given a tour of Truckman’s product development and manufacturing facility, which is part of a recent £2.6m investment programme.
Truckman’s head office building has provided much-needed additional warehouse storage and hardtop fitting capacity to meet the increased demand from its multi-channel business stream.
Sales of its hardtops and its range of vehicle accessories have been driven by its strong relationships with Original Equipment (OE) customers, which include Isuzu.
Mike Wheeler, Joint Managing Director of Truckman, said: “We were very proud to host this important industry event for one of the world’s leading vehicle distributors. We have a long and successful relationship with Isuzu UK and were keen to host its dealer conference.
“The investment we have made in the business, in particular in our new facilities, provided a great setting for this conference and interesting discussions about future developments in our industry.”
Darren James, Group Resource Director from Isuzu, said: “Hosting our dealer conference at the premises of one of our established accessory suppliers has been a successful initiative and we would like to thank the team at Truckman for their hospitality. Isuzu has a very engaged dealer network and I am sure they took a lot away from the conference and enjoyed the experience of attending the event at Truckman.”
Truckman has secured the exclusive distribution rights in the UK for Steinbauer Performance for 4x4 Pick-up trucks, a unique engine accessory that increases the power and torque of diesel engines by around 20 percent.
The Steinbauer Performance Power Enhancement is an electronic module that plugs directly into existing engine electrics and increases the power of the engine by 20 percent once the electronics sense it is required, i.e. when overtaking, towing or off-roading.
Unlike cheaper alternative products, the desired performance enhancement is achieved by lengthening the duration of fuel injection, rather than increasing the fuel pressure, which can cause damage to the engine. This technology is unique to Steinbauer performance products, which in addition, increases the power only when necessary, at 65% power output, which limits excessive fuel consumption.
Truckman stock a Steinbauer kit for the majority of pick-up models. The modules all come with a three-year warranty and the facility for an optional extra of an on-off switch that allows the user to activate and deactivate the boost when necessary.
Steinbauer Performance is a OE independent developer, manufacturer and global supplier of electronic components and additional modules for modern diesel and turbocharged petrol engines.
Mike Wheeler, Managing Director of Truckman, said: “Securing the exclusive distribution rights for Steinbauer Performance‘s Power Enhancement is a major coup for Truckman and will deliver great value for our pick-up customers.
“Many of our clients use their vehicles for commercial purposes and transport heavy loads, which can make it difficult to reach the desired speeds – our new product will overcome this issue and many more faced by customers that require extra power.”
